ABOUT THE ARTIST

Carolynn Reinsel is a self‑taught artist whose creative journey spans a lifetime of exploring diverse artistic mediums. Her work found new direction in 2020 when she discovered watercolor, followed by a deepening passion for mixed media in 2022. Through each piece, Carolynn channels creativity as a way to reflect on daily life and connect more closely with the world around her.

Inspired by the natural beauty of Alaska, Carolynn draws much of her imagery from her time outdoors. Whether walking her dog, hiking winding trails, kayaking quiet waters, or biking along Anchorage trails, she observes the colors, textures, and forms that shape her artwork. Birch trees, mountain scapes, water, and seasonal flora frequently appear in her compositions, offering viewers a vibrant and immersive experience.

Outside her studio, Carolynn enjoys an active lifestyle. Family remains at the heart of her life, especially her three children, and she treasures time spent with friends and loved ones.
